Well, greedy (Bill) Gates and company (Microsoft) have been chasing me around the internet for over 10 years, and this week they've caught up with me again.

After totally screwing up Webtv, Hotmail, and Apple Intel, they've gotten their greasy hands on my free Skype:

Of course, no doubt it won't be free for very much longer. Maybe they'll now be calling it Micro-Skype? For those who never used it, it was great. You know how emails killed the post office business (free notes sent 24/7)? Well, Skype did the same thing for the phone business (free calls 24/7).

And no, this isn't the clueless whining of someone who hasn't been there. Back in the day, I was a customer of those afore-mentioned fine products, which Gates and 'soft jumped on in the middle of the night and gutted. (We're still waiting to see all those wonderful Java applications on Webtv, etc., Gates!)

So thanks a lot, 'soft saps. If you don't mess this one up as well, it'll be a pure miracle!
